At AFC, green isn’t just a passing fad or a marketing gimmick. We embody our operations with a spirit of environmental stewardship. AFC understands that true success hinges on our ability to responsibly minimize our environmental impact while providing quality service.

Our customers look to us to help with their sustainability efforts too. Before green even became a world-wide buzzword, we developed The AFC Green program. Implemented in 2006, Green Care leads the industry in providing solutions for a cleaner and healthier environment. AFC is currently green cleaning more than 1 million square feet of building space. Green Care includes green cleaning, recycling and energy services that:

• Enhance indoor air quality
• Employ eco-friendly processes and products
• Conserve energy and natural resources
• And save money.

AFC is one of the largest participants in the Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR program. ENERGY STAR offers real benchmarking and analysis for member companies. We analyze our clients’ buildings and recommend options to improve energy efficiency.  

USGBC and LEED-Certification

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a non-profit organization made up of leaders from every sector of the building maintenance industry. They work to promote environmentally responsible buildings. With sustainability as their core purpose, their mission is to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built, and operated.

The USGBC created the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™, the nationally accredited benchmark for rating the operation of green buildings. As a USGBC member and LEED expert, AFC can develop specific maintenance procedures for your facility, as well as track and document LEED credits for the areas we provide service, to help you qualify for and maintain certification.

We’ll continue to monitor, assess and learn new ways to improve our own environmental impact. And we’ll use that knowledge to assist clients in their move toward greater sustainability.
